The numbers founders look at on Monday, on a phone

Small tools I prototype myself, so the team does not wait on a roadmap.

20+
tools shipped since June 2026

Context

The questions the team asks all day, today's sales, what is about to sell out, return rates, ad returns across channels, lived in reports built for desks.

The problem

Nobody opens a dashboard on the way to a store. Answers took four tabs and ten minutes, so decisions waited.

The bet

  • Start from the question, not the data: one screen per question, on the device the person actually has in their hand.
  • Prototype it myself with AI tools, a first version in days, then improve from real use rather than a spec.
  • Keep every tool private to the team and never expose the company's data outside it.

My role

Designed and built them myself with AI tools.

What shipped

A family of small tools: a daily-numbers app for phones and laptops, one view of ad returns across the website and marketplaces, a price-change history, a sell-out-soon alert, a discount-code tool for employees, a hiring portal, and more.

What happened

Numbers get checked before the meeting instead of in it. The sell-out list is a notification, not a report.

What it taught me

If a person asks the same question every day, it should be a screen. If they do the same thing every week, it should be automated.

A good opener

Hi Nikhil — I run [brand], roughly [₹ revenue], selling [online / online and in stores]. The problem I'm trying to solve is [repeat rate / stores and web / personalisation / hiring a growth lead]. Would you be open to a 20-minute call?

Fill in the brackets and send it as it is. That is enough for me to say yes or no honestly.
